Kersefontein stereograms

Here are a few quick ones...

Two days at Kersefontein

We had two wonderful days at Kersefontein. Besides Julian, Sue and Rose, there were other guests Mark and Santi with whom we got along very well too!

At breakfast the first morning; Neil snoozed in the pram

It was so nice and the kids enjoyed it so much too, that we'll have to be back soon!

More of Langebaan

I've been building up quite a backlog of posts for this holiday. Now that we're settled in Onrus for the next while I'm starting to get opportunities to clear the backlog.

On one evening last week we went to have supper at Friday Island in Langebaan. Their food is always fantastic.

Not having made a reservation, we were seated in the stoute hoekie outside, which was the only available spot (this suited us very well as some of us are stout anyway)

Miekie cut her foot on a shell on the beach outside Friday Island; they must be used to this sort of thing because they immediately brought us their first aid box

On Thursday we drove through the West Coast National Park and had lunch at an Atlantic Viewpoint. We also located a geocache hidden nearby.

On Thursday night Neil and I fell ill. Friday morning was spent at the doctor in Langebaan. Malaria was finally ruled out in my case in favour of an undetermined viral infection and Neil was diagnosed with an ear infection plus a throat infection.

On Friday afternoon we packed up, dropped off the keys at Tim, dropped of the baby chair we borrowed at a friend of Marisa's and as we were exiting Langebaan, heading for Kersefontein, Pieter became sick in the car. We turned around, picked up the keys from Tim, went back to Teen Die Zee washed Pieter and the interior of the car and all the loose things in the car that were "affected" by the incident, and finally set off again to Kersefontein! Pieter probably got the same virus as I had. Just before we arrived in Kersefontein, while already on the dirt road, Pieter became sick in the car again. Luckily we had a plastic bag on standby this time! Ah, the joys of parenting.

Some time in Langebaan

We've been spending the past few days in Teen Die Zee in Langebaan!

On the road

Miekie, Pieter and I dropped off Marisa and Neil at OR Tambo Airport on Saturday. They flew to Cape Town and we three drove there. We spent the night in a cottage in Beaufort West, called Pepper Tree Cottage which has a large pepper tree on the property, surprise surprise.

We visited Paul and Jorika in Welgevonden in Stellenbosch on Sunday (where Marisa and Neil had already stayed for the Saturday evening).
